Brazil's public security chief

Brazil’s former head of public security, Andersen Torres, has been ordered by the country’s courts to be arrested.

It is related to the incident of protesters storming several buildings including the President’s House and the Supreme Court last Sunday, rejecting the election defeat of former President Jair Bolsonaro.

Anderson Torres also served as Justice Minister in Jair Bolsonaro’s government.

He later became President Lula de Silva’s Chief of Public Security.

Authorities in the country alleged that Anderson Torres deliberately allowed the conflict to arise.

But the charges against him have not yet been specified.

It is reported that Anderson Torres was on vacation in America with his family members at the time of the incident.

According to foreign media reports, he has been removed from the position of head of public security after the incident.

In addition, the country’s military police, including the former commander, have arrested around 1500 people involved in the protest.
