Russians have been informed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that their leader is destroying their nation.
Mr. Zelensky said that the Russian president was hiding behind his troops rather than leading them when he spoke after the Russian president gave a New Year’s address surrounded by people dressed in military uniforms.
Mr. Zelensky stated that the Ukrainian people would not forgive Russia after a day of deadly strikes across the country on Saturday.
The attacks resulted in dozens of injuries and at least one death.
According to Valerii Zaluzhny, the head of Ukraine’s armed forces, air defenses shot down 12 of 20 Russian cruise missiles on Saturday.
There were further rocket strikes on Kyiv only hours into the new year on Sunday, authorities said. Overnight, 45 kamikaze drones made in Iran were shot down, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
