Two helicopters collided in an Australian tourist destination, killing four passengers and badly wounding three others in a disaster that drew emergency help from beachgoers enjoying the ocean during the southern summer.
According to Queensland state police acting inspector Gary Worrell during a press conference, when they collided on Monday afternoon at the Sea World theme park in Main Beach, a northern Gold Coast beach, one helicopter looked to be taking off and the other appeared to be landing.
