radioactive water

Japan has said that more than one million tons of radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant, which was destroyed by an earthquake a few years ago, will be released into the sea this year.

Japan says that the levels of radioactive particles in the water in the plant have been brought to a safe level in accordance with national standards.

Commenting on this, the International Atomic Energy Agency has stated that the proposal is safe, but neighboring countries have expressed concern over it.

The 2011 Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster was the worst nuclear accident since the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The removal of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant has already begun, but it is said that it will take four decades.

It is reported that there are more than 1.3 million tons of radioactive water in the nuclear power plant damaged by the earthquake.
